A gaseous fossil fuel consisting primarily of methane (CH₄), with smaller amounts of ethane, propane, butane, and other hydrocarbons. Found in underground reservoirs, either alone (non-associated gas) or with crude oil (associated gas). Natural gas is used for power generation, heating, industrial processes, and as a petrochemical feedstock.
